North U21 v South U21 – Squads Announced | |
19 September 2014 The squads have been announced for the meeting between the North U21 and South U21 at An Aird, Fort William on Saturday 20 September 2014. The match will be an opportunity for the players to stake a claim for the forthcoming U21 Shinty / Hurling international between Ireland and Scotland at Pairc Esler, Newry, County Down on Saturday 25 October 2014. Scotland U21 manager Garry Reid said “The North U21 v South U21 fixture used to be a corner stone of the shinty calendar and the players have shown a real appetite to be part of this fixture with over 70 players turning up for the trial sessions in Inveraray and Inverness. The fixture will also be used as the final part of selection for the Scotland U21 team that will compete against Ireland in Newry, Co Down on Saturday 25 October 2014 so the players on show will have the opportunity to bring success for their respective area as well as achieving personal recognition of being selected for their country.” Throw up at An Aird is at 1pm and the usual shinty fixture list has been put on hold to allow maximum participation.
